HistoryMTÜ Ukraina Nimel was founded in 2023 to help Ukrainian defenders in their fight against Russian invasion, harnessing the overwhelming support of Ukraine from Estonian society.
It all started with one sms of soldier who joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces as a civilian. It was a friend of Viktoriia Moiseienkova, current director of MTÜ Ukraina Nimel. He asked her to buy a pair of special military gloves in Estonia, as everything of this kind was wiped out in Ukraine when the invasion had just started. 
The activity gradually reached a much larger scale and grew into a nonprofit, with MTÜ Ukraina Nimel currently working directly with the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyi Yar” – one of the most efficient brigades in Ukraine who constantly fight in the hottest spots of the frontline. While the focus remains on the 93rd brigade, our help also goes to some other units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, like 10th Mountain Assault Brigade "Edelweiss", the 24th Mechanized Brigade, and few others.

ActionSupport must translate into tangible results. For us, it is important not only to speak about supporting Ukraine but also to create opportunities to take action — whether for individuals, businesses, schools, organizations, or entire communities. It is action that turns solidarity into meaningful support.
RemembranceFor us, remembrance is also a form of action. We honor the memory of Ukraine's fallen defenders, raise awareness of prisoners of war, and keep the stories of those who are still missing alive. Through events, initiatives, and personal stories, we help preserve their names and ensure that the war is never reduced to mere numbers and statistics.
Responsibility, Transparency, and HonestySupporting the military means being accountable both to those who need assistance and to those who entrust us with their donations.
That is why we work directly with specific military units, verify their current needs, document purchases and deliveries, and share the results of our fundraising efforts. At the same time, we believe that transparency cannot exist without honesty. We consider it essential to communicate openly about situations and decisions, avoid making promises we cannot guarantee, acknowledge mistakes when they happen, and take responsibility for our actions.Trust is not built on an image of perfection, but on honesty, consistency, and the ability to see tangible results.
Collective SecuritySupporting Ukraine is not a matter that concerns Ukrainians alone. Russian aggression poses a threat to European security, and Ukraine's defenders are holding it back on the battlefield today. That is why our mission is to help communities understand that supporting Ukraine is not simply an act of charity, but a contribution to our collective security and an investment in our own peaceful future.

Direct Support for Ukraine's DefendersDirect support for the Ukrainian military remains at the heart of Ukraina Nimel's work. We receive requests from military units with whom we maintain direct contact, organize fundraising campaigns, engage partners, purchase essential supplies, and deliver aid where it is needed. Depending on current needs, this may include vehicles, drones, equipment, evacuation and power supply solutions, as well as other essential assistance. Our goal is to ensure that every fundraising campaign addresses a specific need, supports a specific military unit, and delivers a clear, tangible result.
Advocacy for Ukraine in EuropeFor us, it is important not only to raise funds but also to do everything we can to ensure that Ukraine's voice continues to be heard in Estonia and across Europe. We collaborate with schools, NGOs, businesses, and local communities, participate in meetings and civic initiatives, and raise awareness about Ukraine and the real needs of its defenders. We aim to help people understand why supporting Ukraine is in the interests of European society itself, and why defending Ukraine today is directly connected to Europe's security tomorrow. We want support for Ukraine to be seen not merely as a gesture of solidarity, but as a conscious investment in our shared peaceful future.
Ambassador ProgramWe believe everyone should have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful support in a way that suits their abilities and circumstances. Through our Ambassador Program, anyone can take responsibility for a portion of a larger fundraising goal and raise donations among friends, colleagues, acquaintances, or their own community. In this way, one large fundraising campaign becomes many smaller, personal initiatives. Information about the needs of Ukrainian defenders reaches beyond our organization's existing audience, connecting with people we might otherwise never reach. We support our ambassadors throughout the process, providing the necessary information, materials, and guidance at different stages of their fundraising efforts. This is more than just a fundraising tool. It is an opportunity for individuals to become active participants in a collective effort.
Partnerships with Businesses and OrganizationsWe welcome partnerships with businesses, organizations, and communities that want to turn their support for Ukraine into tangible results. Partnerships can take many forms: funding a specific need of a military unit, purchasing or donating essential supplies and equipment, providing products or services, offering special terms or discounts, organizing internal fundraising campaigns, providing promotional support, or launching joint charity projects. For businesses, this is an opportunity not simply to declare their values, but to put them into action and demonstrate the real impact of their involvement to employees, customers, and partners. Events and ZDYBANKASince 2023, ZDYBANKA has become one of Ukraina Nimel's signature events. Its idea is simple: to bring people together in support of Ukraine through meaningful face-to-face connections. ZDYBANKA combines networking, Ukrainian culture, new connections, local community engagement, and fundraising for Ukraine's defenders. Our events are open to everyone. They offer an opportunity to meet new people, connect with like-minded individuals, learn more about Ukraine and our work, and contribute to meeting a specific military need. We want to build a community of people whose support for Ukraine goes beyond a single donation. That is why ZDYBANKA is more than just a charity event.
